About

I create stories, systems, and experiences that help connect people to purpose. With master’s degrees in Digital Storytelling and Creative Writing and years of experience across content design, writing, web development, photography, course creation and teaching, my work strives to be effective, engaging, and meaningful. I’m savvy in most creative software, quick to learn new tools, and skilled at keeping digital systems organized, updated, and functional. I’m equally comfortable creating/editing content, managing digital productions, or even coordinating logistics for events, always with a human-centered approach

With extensive experience as an end-to-end project manager and developer, I can bridge strategy, design, and execution. I’ve collected deeper insight and tools for brainstorming, revising, proofing, and optimization. My background as a virtual and on-site instructor of composition, communications, and creative writing for adult learners informs my ability to create user-focused content. I have also gathered experience facilitating and designing/developing virtual courses for professional groups to improve team-building and deepen self-reflections. My own experiences helps me translate complex ideas into clear, compelling elements that connect personally with diverse audiences.

I’m excited to collaborate on creations and campaigns that spark authentic engagement and measurable impact — especially with mission-driven teams that champion creativity and greater change through learning.

Mom, my big sister, and me: 1982

me

… And there is, of course, more about me personally. See that old Polaroid? I grew up in an old, two-bedroom house in a small Midwestern town, just me, my big sister, and our mom who was gone a lot, working hard to make ends meet. It wasn’t easy, but we did our best to take care of each other.  We taught ourselves a LOT. I was an artist, explorer, and entrepreneur at an early age, writing and selling my own newspapers door-to-door, directing my neighbor-kids in plays on my back porch, running animal hospitals — for local kittens, injured birds, and butterflies — out of my garage, and building families of giant robots with old boxes, plastic egg shells, and aluminum cans. Despite the challenges of poverty, I made my way to college, and, once I got there, I just kept going! I was granted full scholarships, work study, and multiple assistantships to back me. I became the first in my family to earn a graduate degree. And, in the midst of all that, I raised four beautiful children and found an excellent partner in marriage. It was a long road full of bumps and curves, but, over the years, I’ve grown to love my personal story, all the blunders alongside the successes, and I wouldn’t change a thing, even if I could. I love my family immensely, and I love that I’m back in my home state of Indiana, in a small town, in a house surrounded by tall trees, where I can step out my back door every morning, if I so desire, to breathe in fresh air, watch the sun rise over a cow field, and then, with my camera in hand, go bug-hunting.
